I started bowling again in December 2013 after a 15-year hiatus (I am only 31 y/o), and I found out very early that a lot has changed since my teenage years in the bowling technology realm. When I stopped bowling @ 16 I carried a 200+ average on a sanctioned adult/child league and bowled with a urethane ball on wooden lanes (hell, the ball returns were exposed/above ground and the scoring was manual/overhead). Today, I am 110% back into the sport, but I had to re-learn the game a bit. Reactive overstock balls, synthetic lanes (the automatic scoring is nice though, no complaints/learning curve there!), and a healthier physique on my end add up to a whole new experience while bowling. I am constantly reminded that this is a true sport and I am approaching it with aspirations to take my game as far as possible. Currently I am training to compete in Fall 2014 USBC sanctioned league-play and hopefully competing in the 2015 tournaments.
